“This the strangers’ case, And this your mountainish inhumanity”

Act 2, Scene 4 , The Book of Sir Thomas Moore

Sir Thomas Moore intervenes and stops a mob in an anti-immigrants riot. The Book of Sir Thomas Moore was not published in Shakespeare’s lifetime.

This monologue was popularized by Globe, London in recent times against the immigration laws.

In the painting you see possessions that an immigrant may carry.

You don’t see any immigrants, do you? Well, that is precisely the point.
