About This Project

A Dinner Party

Women are not only caregivers, cooks, comfort providers but also consumers of their own labors, with enormous appetites.

A Dinner Party features various kinds of food for many women. Some can also be seen feeding just on conversations. This triptych is inspired by Judy Chicago’s installation The Dinner Party. It resonates visually with the iconic The Last Supper.

This painting celebrates women’s spaces where hierarchy works differently; the most powerful nurtures the weakest and the youngest. The table cloth details are inspired by Kantha stitches which is a tribute to women’s creativity. The designs depict the imagined her-story as opposed to history.
